I made this resource
This is how I grow beautiful vegetables with less work.
I made this quick guide to give you the simplest entry point into the soil-first approach I use in my own garden. So much of the gardening advice I see online is just flat out wrong, because it isn't informed about the latest scientific understanding of what soil is.

No. This guide explains how soil works, so you can cut through the marketing garbage that chemical fertilizer companies push on you. You do NOT need any expensive products to build amazing soil, and no matter where you are, you can start right now.
Yes. The principles apply anywhere. Huge 100+ acre farms, all the way down to a single pot on a windowsill can benefit from improving their soil health.
This is just a quick intro guide that explains what soil is, and how you can begin to feed your soil correctly. Learning this unlocks an entirely new type of gardening that is much easier and more joyful.
Generally, yes. Living, biologically active soil can support plants in accessing a wider range of minerals and forming better relationships with microbes, which usually translates into more nutrient-dense food (that also tastes better). In contrast, plants grown in depleted or chemically dependent systems often prioritize fast growth over nutrient complexity.
Yep, I know. It sounds too good to be true. But it’s not new—it’s actually how humans have grown food for thousands of years. The modern ‘conventional’ system (heavy tillage, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, GMOs) is a very recent experiment. For most of history, people built fertility by working with natural systems, not against them. When you focus on soil life instead of inputs, a few things happen: you stop spending money on products you don’t need, your soil starts holding water and nutrients on its own, and plants become more resilient with less intervention. That means less watering, less weeding, fewer pests, and fewer problems to fix.
NO! I wrote + designed this guide entirely myself without AI. The images are from my garden or farms I've vistied, and the diagrams and illustrations are drawn by me, by hand. Download it for free and you'll see how much care I put it into it :)
